Associate professor Dr. Antonia Rumenova Kisheva, MD
Graduated in medicine at the Medical University of Varna in 1999. Conducted a 3-month internship in Internal Medicine in Brussels, Belgium as a trainee doctor in 1999.
Owned a practice as a general practitioner in the city of Varna since 2001 until April 2008.
Acquired the specialty "General Medicine" in 2007.
In 2008 started working in the First Cardiology Clinic of St. Marina University Hospital Varna.
Acquired the "Cardiology" specialty in December 2013.
Appointed to assistant professor of cardiology at the Department of Internal Medicine in March 2014.
Defended a dissertation on the topic "Role of fibrosis and mineralocorticoid receptor blockade in atrial fibrillation" in 2017.
Appointed to Associate Professor at the First Department of the Medical University of Varna in 2021.
Specialized and held certificates in Echocardiography - fundamental and expert level, from 2014 and 2017, respectively. Conducted a specialization in echocardiography and transcranial Doppler sonography in Messina, Italy in 2013.
Interests: heart failure, rhythm and conduction disorders, arterial hypertension, cardiomyopathies, atrial fibrillation, obesity, amyloidosis, myocarditis and pericarditis, infective endocarditis, ischemic heart disease - acute and chronic, cerebral stroke and diagnosis of cryptogenic strokes, clinical trials of new drugs.
